Oxted offers a comprehensive range of shopping facilities and restaurants together with a leisure centre and swimming pool. Master Park, along with the playing fields at Mill Lane and Bushey Croft provide sporting spaces for football, cricket, tennis and children’s playgrounds. The usual amenities such as a library, health centre and community buildings are available along with a local cinema, the Barn Theatre and an excellent selection of schools. It has a mainline station with a fast service to London and good transport links to the rest of the country.
We strive to maintain the character of Oxted but are aware that, by its very nature, the success of Oxted has led to a lack of affordable housing and increased traffic volumes, which is a major concern.
We believe that value for money is vital at all levels of Local Government. We are therefore, proud that your Parish Council charge to the ratepayer is one of the lowest in Tandridge District with the £26,500 precept representing only £5.10 per annum for band D ratepayer. We value Oxted for its greenbelt, its community spirit and its village atmosphere. Your Parish Councillors strive to protect this heritage and environment and at the same time look to the future needs of the wider community especially the aspirations of young families that are the next generation.
